RECYCLING PROJECT

The Company is finalizing the project of starting up recycling plant with the Phnom Penh Municipality in order to reduce waste to zero, without negative impact on the public health. The project of compost for the separated food waste at the first stage will be hopefully implemented in the second half of year 2010.

The recycling project through waste separation at source is implemented in order to compost separated food waste into fertilizer for agricultural plantation or animal feed. The separated food waste of about 650 tons a day is transported from households and markets to the dumpsite for composting. This plan is actively participated and supported by the local authorities and citizens.

The Company will be implementing waste separation modular system which is able to produce diesels for the future growth of waste quantity. This system is in the final phase of negotiation with the recycling contractor to design and build the recycling plant at the dumpsite area granted by the Phnom Penh Municipality to install the plant facilities.

The revenue of collection tipping fee, sale of recovered material through reprocessing, repackaging and waste transformation will be use to pay for the plant building investment. This is indication of minimizing waste through reducing waste at source, reuse and recycling where is moving towards ZERO waste Phnom Penh.
